There's the "change" he promised, right there! We don't call 'em taxes anymore.

Are you a responsible citizen?

All this talk about taxing bullets, reporting ammo sales above 1000 rounds, blah blah blah, don't we get it? It's be cause liberal politicians just simply don't believe Americans can govern themselves. I mean if a nut job goes and buys 6000 of ammo to kill folks in a movie theater, then all Americans must be like that, so let's control them all!  I'm insulted.

So if we take away all guns when an amoral decides to act, why don't we tear down all the levees across the country when one breaks in a storm. Surely all the levees are bad. Or if God forbid, we have an oil refinery disaster, quickly shut down all the oil producers across the country because possibly millions could die from dangers of refineries across America. Or think about this; A negligent driver of an automobile hits and kills a child who is crossing the street. Terrible, simply terrible. I can barely stand the thought of something like that. But what do we do, ban the use of automobiles? If we just didn't have automobiles, this wouldn't happen. Of course not.

We prosecute to the fullest extent of the law the perpetrator of such a heinous act.

Do you get my point?

I suspect whats going to happen to the nut case in Colorado. The law will feel sorry for him and maybe put him away in a padded cell and feed him every day and provide him counseling. I tell you who needs the counseling. It's families who lost their loved ones in such a heinous act as occurred in Colorado. But they will probably not get any care, because legislators are so busy crafting a law to prohibit the law abiding citizens from every owning a rifle again. There is no legislation that says, prosecute severely the perpetrator of heinous crimes and provide support to the victims. Instead, victims and law abiding citizens suffer, whilst the criminal is cared for.

We've got it all backwards folks. Our moral compass is mis-pointed.  We are moving away from a absolute standard, and allowing relativism to dictate what we do. Even worse, we are letting misguided legislation dictate what we do. Instead of the freedom for all, which requires some pretty tough responsibility on everyone's part, we allow the control of all by a few, which doesn't demand the people to even think anymore.

So if you are a responsible human, and can live up to the challenge of being free citizens, stand up and be counted. Show our current legislators you can think for yourself. Please don't let our freedoms be taken away by the few because you didn't stand up and say, "Enough!"
